Careful lime and cement repointing for Victorian and Edwardian properties across Shropshire and Birmingham. The right mortar, the right finish.
Repointing a period house with the wrong mortar will damage the brick for the next century. We use lime where lime belongs, cement where cement belongs, and finish the joints to match what was there originally.
Most of our work comes through word of mouth from previous clients across Shrewsbury, Birmingham, Solihull and the surrounding villages. We do not take on more than we can finish well, and we treat every job as if our reputation depends on it. Because it does.
Every quote we issue is line-by-line and fixed. You see the cost of every stage and every material before we lift a hammer. No sliding scope, no surprise variations.
Every brick repointing project we take on includes the survey, drawings where needed, building control where required, all materials, all labour, all site disposal, and a two-year workmanship guarantee.
The bits that make the difference. The detail, the materials, the sequencing. This is what separates a build that lasts from one that does not.
Hydraulic lime (NHL 3.5 typically) for Victorian and Edwardian brickwork. Soft enough to flex, breathable enough to let the wall dry.
For 1930s onward brick built with harder mortar from new. Matched colour and joint profile.
Weather-struck, bucket-handle, flush, tuck-pointed. We replicate the original detail rather than overwriting it.
Hand-raked or angle-grinder used carefully. Brick arrises (edges) protected. No widening of joints, no shattered bricks.
Spalled or cracked bricks cut out and replaced with reclaimed matches. Sourced locally where possible.
Full scaffold for any work above ground floor. Tower or hop-ups for low-level pointing only.
A free consultation, a proper site visit, and a line-by-line quote. No pressure, no sales pitch. Just a good builder giving you a straight answer.
