Will I need planning permission?
A rear dormer often falls under permitted development on a freehold property. A side dormer or hip-to-gable extension on a semi may need full planning. We check at survey stage.
Can my house take a loft conversion?
Most pitched-roof houses can, but minimum head height matters. We bring a tape and a ladder to the survey and tell you straight whether it works.
What does a loft conversion cost?
Across Shropshire and Birmingham, a Velux conversion typically starts around £35,000, a dormer around £55,000, and a hip-to-gable from around £65,000. Glazing and bathroom spec move the number up or down.
How long do you take?
Around 10 to 14 weeks for a dormer with en-suite, depending on weather and structural complexity. We give a proper programme of works at quote stage.
